Solution Deployed: Automated Vehicle Tracking and Gate Automation System
Challenges and Issues:
Managing the increasing vehicle movement in the campus.
Security of resident vehicles
Decentralized database of vehicle
Manual register entry system
Lack of ways to identify a vehicle parked at wrong parking space.
Increasing theft of vehicles due to adjoining village.
Control the movement of unauthorized vehicles.
Traffic Jams and long queue during peak hours.
Additional costs of security guards.
System Features and Process:
Movement of vehicles controlled by high speed boom barrier.
RFID readers were used to read the tags and corresponding key card through a distance of 12-15 mt.
The boom operates only when the ID of the Tag and the card matches with each other and thus acts like a secondary key for vehicle pass system.
Live reports can be viewed in the software installed in the central server of the institute.
Alarms can be triggered for calling extra manpower guard in case of peak traffic or jams.
Integration with stand alone boom barrier alarms which can be customized to trigger in case of entry / exit of vehicles during odd hours or late night.
Special tag lanes for tagged vehicles.
Benefits:
Smooth and automated pass system.
Hands free operation.
Enhanced security due to dual tag mapping system (Tag+key card)
Block / unblock a vehicle on a single click.
Issue gate pass tags through a central system. Easy of management.
Centralized database of vehicles.
Ability to identify vehicles if parked at wrong space.
Reduced traffic jams and queue at main gate.
Merely a single guard is required to just stand and watch the vehicles pass by itself.
Alarm on vehicles passing late in night or odd hours.
